The woman, who was sexually abused for 9 months, made shocking revelations

Elizabeth Smart, a 33-year-old American woman, says she was so embarrassed by the brutality that happened to her that she could not even tell her parents what had happened to her.

Elizabeth was abducted in Salt Lake City, Utah in June 2002 and was released in March 2003.

During this time, the kidnappers continued to sexually abuse her on a daily basis. Elizabeth was abducted by Brian David Michael with the help of his wife, Wendy Aberzy, and kept under house arrest.

“When I got home nine months later, my parents were eager to hear, but I couldn’t tell them how I was treated,” Elizabeth said.

Ten years later, when I testified in court and told them about my treatment, my parents found out. In September 2018, the court sentenced Brian David to life in prison and his wife, Venda, to 12 years in prison.
