Turkey: The local government of a Turkish province hired donkeys as government employees to pick up garbage.

According to media reports, the local government hired donkeys to clean up the garbage in the historic district of Artakluki in the southeastern Turkish province of Mardin.

The municipal corporation hired regular donkeys for this work, which would work only 6 hours a day and collect garbage from different areas and deliver it to the designated place.

The donkey will be accompanied by a government employee who will collect garbage from the trash can and put it in a sack on the back.

According to the report, donkeys will be provided with food when they return after completing their timing in the evening while they will be kept in government stables. One donkey will be given a job for 7 years. He will be released from the government stables on completion of his 7 years.
