The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, said in a press conference that the number of deaths from Covid-19 last week was the lowest since March 2020.

He said that our position regarding the end of the Covid epidemic has never been so good before, we have not reached the end yet but it is looking likely.

He added that we are seeing the end and we are in a good position, but we cannot stop the work now it has to continue till the end. He urged countries to ensure 100 percent vaccination and testing of high-risk groups.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom said that this is a great opportunity for us and if we do not take advantage of it, we may face the risk of more variants of the coronavirus, more deaths, and more uncertainty, so we should take advantage of this opportunity. Must be picked up.

Some policy papers regarding the virus have also been released by the WHO.

According to Dr. Tedros Adhanom, these policy papers are meant to guide governments around the world to review and strengthen their policies.
