Chrome browser introduces memory saving & power saving mode

Google Chrome is the most popular web browser in the internet world but it uses a lot of computer memory to open different websites. Due to this Google Chrome users often experience slow computer or reduced laptop battery life.

These features in Google Chrome’s experimental settings aim to protect laptop battery and optimize system memory by making various tabs inactive.

Due to these two reasons, two new features called memory saver and battery saver have been added to Google Chrome.

Battery saver mode

The battery saver mode will work only when your device is running on battery ie this feature will not work on a desktop computer.

Memory saver mode

When you turn on Memory Saver mode, the computer will not allocate memory resources to tabs that you will not be using. This will improve the speed of the Google Chrome browser.

How to activate battery saver and memory saver mode?

To use the battery saver and memory saver features, go to chrome://flags and search for battery saver and then restart the browser after enabling it.
