Several people injured in blast at explosives factory in France
According to foreign media reports, at least eight people were injured in an explosion at the site of Urenco, a military explosives manufacturing company in Bergerac, southwestern France.
Several people were injured in an explosion at the site of military explosives maker Urenco in Bergerac, southwestern France, around 1400 CET on Wednesday, local officials said.
The Dordogne Region Prefecture said in a statement that eight people were injured, including one with life-threatening injuries.
Fires flared after the explosion, but the situation was under control by 1600 CET, officials said. The prefecture said the explosion had no impact outside the site. Dordogne prefecture said emergency services were on the scene.

Bergerac Mayor Jonathan Prevold said authorities did not yet know the cause of the explosion, but it occurred in a section handling nitrocellulose.
