The recent rains in Karachi have wreaked havoc all over the city. According to the Weather Department, Karachi had recorded such heavy rains in 1931.

On the other side, the Chief Minister of Sindh declared a rain emergency in the province while instructing the PDM to start relief work, the leave of employees of all concerned departments has also been canceled.


According to private TV, due to heavy rains in Karachi, low-lying areas have been inundated and people are facing severe difficulties. Residents of flooded areas have been forced to relocate.

Bad news for students who smoke

According to the Weather Department, 77.8 mm of rain was recorded on University Road, 76.6 mm on Nazimabad, 70.8 mm on Saadi Town, 65.8 mm on Jinnah Terminal, and 62 mm on PA Base Masroor.

The highest rainfall of 125 mm was recorded at PAF Base Faisal, 114 mm at Gulshan-e-Hadid, 83 mm at Saddar, 81 mm at Landhi, and 79 mm at Old Area Airport.


North Karachi received 49.8 mm of rainfall and Surjani Town received 42.8 mm of rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, the rains will continue tomorrow.
