Bangladesh asked for a loan of $4.5 billion from the IMF

According to foreign media reports, Bangladesh’s current account deficit was $17.20 billion in 11 months and Bangladesh has sought a loan from the IMF for external payments and budget support.

It has been stated in the media reports that there will be no interest on the loan of one billion and 50 million dollars, while there will be a 2 percent interest on $3 billion.

The report also states that a staff-level agreement will be drawn up in December and the agreement will be presented to the board for approval in January.
