Local media reported that a helicopter used for tourism crashed on a highway in the state of West Virginia on Wednesday, killing six people on board.

The tourist helicopter, which was at Logan County Airport in the state, crashed on State Route 17 and caught fire when rescue workers arrived, WSAZ-TV quoted Logan Emergency Management Authority Chief of Operations Ray Bryant as saying. Reported citing

Bryant told the station that State Route 17 was expected to remain closed for 24 hours during an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

WSAZ said Bryant described the helicopter as a Vietnam War-era UH-1B.
