Leading
singer Shahzad Rai told media outside Islamabad High Court that 81% of children
in Pakistan suffer from mental violence

Referring to
the ban on torture and corporal punishment of children, he said that violence
against children affects the same part of their brain that is affected by
sexual harassment.

He said that
in Pakistan, parents beat their children, teachers beat them when the child
goes to school.

Shahzad Rai
and Jeevan Trust’s lawyer Shahabuddin also spoke to the media about violence
against children and said that 81% of children in Pakistan are subjected to
some form of mental torture. The scope is a violation of fundamental rights,
Shahzad Roy founded the Foundation for Reform in Education, eliminating
violence against children is a matter of interest to all.
