All companies, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, are obliged to register and it is mandatory for companies to set up offices in the federal capital within 3 months. Media companies have also been conditioned to appoint a liaison officer in Pakistan. The move could lead to action against the propagandists in regard to institutions and national security. The National Coordination Authority will be set up to regulate social media companies, shut down accounts on targeting of domestic companies, prohibited content and harassment complaints.
