of social media accounts is now mandatory

Special Information said that social media is need of every humen. About 73% of
Pakistanis are currently social media users. There was no system on social
media that would protect national security and protect the rights of ordinary
citizens. When Pakistani consumers talk about Kashmir, social media companies
block their accounts.

He said that
various elements have leaked against Pakistani security on social media by
creating fake accounts. Social media is also being used to spread Iranian
society.

He said the
new rules would require social media companies to have offices in Pakistan.
Social media companies will be required to share their data with Bank of
Pakistan, while companies will be obliged to remove the controversial content
within 6 hours.

Firdous
Ashiq Awan said that in violation of the rules, the social media company could
be shut down in Pakistan while the companies could approach the High Court on
their sanctions.
