At least 400 dead as powerful earthquake shakes Turkey, Syria
A severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria caused devastation, with a magnitude 7.8 earthquake destroying several buildings, causing the death toll to exceed 400, while more casualties are being reported.
According to media reports, about 250 people have been killed in Syria so far, while more than 100 people have been reported in Turkey.
Turkey has imposed an emergency at the state level in the wake of the earthquake. Citizens have been demanded not to use their mobile phones so that relief volunteers can connect.
Experts are described as the largest earthquake in recent history in Turkey and Syria.
Earlier, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey in Turkey in December 1939, killing more than 30,000 people.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Nardagi area of Ghazi Int province, south of Turkey, while the depth of the earthquake was 17.9 km. According to Turkish media, the earthquake tremors were felt for a minute.
The aftershocks of the earthquake were also felt in the central areas of Turkish, which recorded a magnitude of 6.7, felt about 11 minutes later.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in Cyprus, Greece, Jordan, and Lebanon.
